Maya's first camping adventure.

We did it. We took Maya camping for the first time, just one night, and only 30 minutes from home...just in case. It was fun camping as a family, a bit different than when it was just the two of us. Maya did really great, although she was a little distracted having others in her 'room' sleeping at night and it was a little cold...but other than that everything when smoothly. Here are some pictures of our short time.

After we set up our tent, we went for a little 'hike'. It was really pretty, and except for maybe the bugs (it was next to a little creek) we had a nice time enjoying God's creation.

When we got back, we roasted hot dogs (yumm...) for dinner.

Maya even got to have a hot dog for dinner, she thought that was great.

Then, we of course had to roast marshmallows for s'mores. Daddy refrained from giving Maya a s'more, but he did let her try just a roasted marshmallow...what a mess.

After dinner we explored the marsh area a little bit.

Then it was time to get ready for bed. Maya was fasinated just being in the tent a first.

In the morning we had pancakes and then went on a little walk to this observation deck overlooking the big marshy area. We had a fun time...maybe next time we'll try two nights!

Looks like you guys had a great time on your camping trip! Where did you go? We would like to try the "camping with a baby thing", but we don't want to go too far. I can't believe that Maya is going to be a year soon...time flies!!! She is so cute.

That looks like fun! We haven't gone camping in almost a year. Time to go again! Glad it was a good time.
